Superman was invented by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1934, they created a short story called “The Reign Of The Superman” about a bald-headed villain bent on dominating the world. The story did not sell, forcing the two to rethink their character on the right side of the law. The revised Superman originally appeared in Action Comics on June 1, 1938. They sold the rights to the company for $130.
In some of the first sketches of Superman’s suit, most of the major design cues are there, except for the symbol on his chest. In the original designs, the “S” was housed in a police badge-styled shape. This is the real original superman suit.
